Fieldmarshal launches TREM V-compliant diesel engines for tractors
The launch comes as the company seeks to expand beyond its traditional diesel-engine business into higher horsepower tractors, agricultural mechanisation and other engineering applications

Fieldmarshal PM Diesels, has launched what it describes as India’s first ARAI-approved TREM V-compliant single-cylinder diesel engine in the 15 HP and 18 HP categories, as the engineering company steps up its focus on cleaner technology and compact agricultural machinery.
The engines have been developed primarily for compact tractors and agricultural equipment and feature an indigenously developed exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system to meet the latest TREM V emission requirements.
Fieldmarshal has also filed multiple national patents in India related to its TREM V engine technology.
The launch comes as the company seeks to expand beyond its traditional diesel-engine business into higher horsepower tractors, agricultural mechanisation and other engineering applications. The company currently has an annual engine manufacturing capacity of more than 160,000 units.
“The development of our TREM V engine platform represents an important milestone in Fieldmarshal’s engineering journey,” said Rishi Patel, Director, Fieldmarshal P.M. Diesels. The new engines, he said, reflected the company’s growing capabilities in indigenous engineering and R&D.
The company targets specialised below-20 HP tractor segments through its Shridev brand. The segment accounts for about 3 per cent of India’s tractor market, with annual volumes estimated at 40,000-45,000 units. Fieldmarshal currently offers 12 HP, 15 HP and 18 HP Shridev tractors and is targeting a 10-15 per cent share of the segment over the next three years.
It plans to introduce tractors up to 30 HP in the near term, with its longer-term product development roadmap extending to 100 HP.
Established in 1963, Fieldmarshal has manufacturing and OEM relationships with companies including Mahindra & Mahindra, Sonalika, ACE and KAMCO. Its Shridev tractor facility has a production capacity of up to 100 tractors a day.
International markets are also a key part of its expansion strategy. The company, whose products are sold in more than 60 countries, is developing Euro V-compatible engines for export markets and plans to extend its engine and tractor portfolio into higher horsepower categories.
Alongside engines and tractors, Fieldmarshal is diversifying into agricultural implements, water solutions, clean energy and energy storage, cleaning equipment, infrastructure solutions and electric vehicles, aiming to build a broader engineering portfolio for domestic and overseas markets.
